The Landscape Garden – Nature Idealised
After the scientific revolution in England, Nature could be understood and admired, rather than feared - no longer something wild and diabolical, but part of a rational universe, subject to the laws of Reason. A less formal style was also more in sympathy with the growth of political liberty. Gardens came to imitate and celebrate Nature through the work of designers like Capability Brown.
Stourhead (Henry Hoare)
Co-Hort can create wildlife gardens and pools with naturalistic planting which can bring a little bit of nature into your garden.
